Opposites 1
I started out working with foregrounds and backgrounds, with opposing views on each page. Then I searched the internet for quotes that spoke to me.
Opposites 2
After thinking about Marc Chagall's quote "All colors are the friends of their neighbors and the lovers of their opposites". I decided to add the "opposite" color to blue, which is orange. I think a much richer version than Opposites 1.

I think both sets are great (the complementary colored ones really pop). I have really enjoyed looking around your blog and seeing all of your beautiful art journal pages... wonderful.
Thank you Kristin! You made my day brighter :)

I had an art history teacher who said, "If it moves you, it's art!" Well, your opposites move me—particularly the blue and orange, which is my all-time favorite color combination. I am now wistful, just wishing I had a shred of your artistic talent. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! I always appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, they mean a lot to me!
I really need to know how you did this. I need details! It spurs me to try it for myself. :)
Dee, Thank you for your interest. I made a template of a bird drawing of mine and traced around it on both pages. I used Golden turquoise acrylic paint. One I painted around the outside, the other, I painted inside.
I was browsing around and your opposite birds kept drawing me back. I really like birds used in art and you really captured them in a very clever way. Nice work
Thank you Patti!
