My First Art Journal

I am in the process of organizing photos and family history. I thought it would be fun to share part of my trip down memory lane.

Here is my first art journal. I am around 6 or 7 years old. Like many of my art journals, sketchbooks, or scrapbooks (call them what you want) I usually didn't finish filling them in before I was on to the "brand new" book - something I still struggle with. I am trying really hard to completely finish one journal before starting another these days.

Yes, we always had some kind of wild animal that we rescued. I would not recommend it today. Racoons carry diseases that we didn't know of back then. Seeing these pages just reaffirms art and animals have always been a constant for me.

We are indeed formed quite early. Love the little version of you.
As to the risks of wild animals, I have to wonder if the risks of being indoors (with our e-media, antiseptics and reduced activity levels) isn't more dangerous. I see our well-protected American kids looking a whole lot less healthy than we were as children.
Maybe it's just different risk sets.

It's so cool that you still have these. I drew constantly as a child, but unfortunately we moved so much, and from one continent to the next, that my parents had to always be getting rid of stuff!

I like what Carina said too. We need to not be toooooo protected from germs:-)

I have a book like this from second grade that I will have to scan and post. Cute, cute.
