Sketchbook Challenge - Highly Prized

I decided to join the group The Sketchbook Challenge. One of my goals for 2011 is to try and work in my Art Journal every day. Jill K. Berry is hosting the group this month. The theme for the month of January is "Highly Prized". Jill and I have worked on several projects together and I am looking forward to being inspired by her and the camaraderie of being in a group.

I drew Edna first, our little "Champion". Next was Spanky. Then Ziggy and I want to draw Rufus yet.
Journal pages of Noel the Christmas pigeon. She was with us for just a short time.

Drawing of my Dad. It's most difficult to draw people that you know!

New Years Day Toad. What can I say?

Always have trouble deciding on subject matter. Picasso and Willie Nelson. Two very different artists.

I needed to accomplish something quickly.

Sketched while sitting in the foothills near Asheville, North Carolina.

Hi,
I joined the group too, and came here to see your blog. All the work in your journal is beautiful! Did you make the journal as well?

I am blown away with your talent my friend, truly. Wowie kazowie! Those pup faces are not only rendered well, they are so full of personality. And Willie Nelson too. Geeze, you are putting on the pressure, raising that bar baby!
